The major event highlighting this year was the publication of “Critical Air: A Flight Nurse’s Adventures from Alaska to Nepal.” The book was written by Gwen Hutchins with all proceeds benefiting the foundation. It has attained best seller status on amazon.com as well as 4.8 star rating on Goodreads.com. It is also available at most other book stores.
Our main project, the Running Bear Triathlon is getting back nearly to pre Covid levels and we’re expecting a sizable jump in participants this year. Increased support from Y of the North, Three Eagle Trail and Three Lakes Cross country will be important.
We also continued support for the BLIPS ( Black Leaders in Plain Sight) program in the Madison school system. In addition we made contributions to several other local and National charities that support our basic goals of youth and amateur sports, healthful activities and environmental improvements. Total gifts this year totaled $6,230, bringing total contributions to $68,975 since inception.
